Welcome from our Pastor:

Welcome to Peace Presbyterian Church! I hope that although your time with us has been brief it has been positive. I trust you’ve sensed God’s presence with us. Finding a church home can be a difficult thing to do. It’s lonely because often you don’t know anyone. It can be embarrassing or confusing because you don’t know all the code words or customs, you may not be familiar with the format of the worship service.  You want to be welcomed but not overwhelmed. You may have some questions but you’re afraid to ask because you might get caught in a lengthy conversation with a stranger or worse the Pastor!

This website is designed to help you navigate the waters of Peace Church. It’s designed to give you enough information to answer many of your questions and perhaps peak your interest in taking a few more steps with us on your spiritual journey. It’s your expedition but we’d like the privilege of being your companion along the way.

I hope to see you again, soon.

Joyfully,

Will Dietrich, Pastor

It’s true that we exist to love and serve God, but how? In bible studies when people don’t know what else to say to a question, often they will respond, ‘We’re to love and serve God.” That covers all the bases, next question! But I believe we can break down that phrase into five divisions in the church; magnification, membership, maturity, ministry and mission. Each one deals with a different aspect of church life.

Magnification refers to our worship of God. To magnify something or someone means to enlarge, expand or increase it. How do we enlarge God? We don’t. We enlarge our hearts toward God through songs, prayers, praise, offerings, communion, baptism, Scripture, teaching and preaching. Expanding our hearts toward God amplifies God’s power and presence in our lives and in the world.

Membership can be defined as getting to know Christ and connecting to God’s family, the church.  A Christian who isn’t closely connected to a church is like a football player without a team. God created you to love others and be loved by others. He doesn’t want you to be like Tom Hanks in Castaway.

Maturity is growing to be like Christ. Babies are cute, but adults who act like babies are not. God wants you to grow up and become spiritually mature adults. God wants you to develop His character, adopt His values, live by His principles. He has given us the tools and resources to accomplish this extreme make-over!

Ministry means you have discovered a place to serve in the church. Jesus said, “I have come not to be served but to serve…” God wants you to believe and belong so you can become a Christ like servant, shaped for ministry.

Mission means learning how to share your spiritual journey with others. Mission is broadly defined as helping others take steps toward Jesus, not ducking the opportunities God puts in your path. It doesn’t require you to be Billy Graham. It does require that you have a heart for God and a vision for the world around you.

We have done our best to classify the work of Peace Church according to the five aspects defined above. Some activities will be listed in more than one category.
